Hafstrom uses all the smoke and mirrors expected in a thriller or horror film. The creaking of the door, the whispers, and unimaginable body contortions are all there. But that should not come as a surprise when Hopkins is the one delivering the puns. No other actor is a better fit to do so.
The Rite is an entertaining attempt to scare the audience into movie theatres this weekend. The film has a believable combination and with Hopkins in the lead it might find itself ranking high in the box office ticket sales.
